Hi everyone,

Being an Oubliette veteran and fan, I've decided to create a web site dedicated to Oubliette.

The site contains an Oubliette Additional Player's Guide that I think you will find very useful.

The site is here: http://www.zimlab.com/oubliette/ipad/index.htm

Enjoy!

By the way, I noted in your writeup that you said that gold is not restored when using portal gems. That is a bug, actually. It should be restored, and will be fixed in the next version.

Oh thank goodness. That's one thing I noticed when I wanted to totally restart the game when I ran low on gold 'cause of those evil innkeepers. I forgot to mention it 'cause I had my simple reinstall workaround to reset the game. =/

I'd also like to point out that resting at the inn to restore HP is not a good move. It's better to rest 1 reserve Priest (perhaps an Elf Priest that has level 6 spells) than several wounded folks. Even lower level reserve Priests help immensely in this regard.

I think I remember John saying that the game doesn't use experience to level characters; instead, a character has a chance to gain a level when they hit, are hit, or damage the enemy or disarm a trap based on their race, class, their level, the level of the dungeon, and the monsters' level. Something like that.

That is quite correct. You should always heal your characters completely before you leave the dungeon if gold is an issue. Even after gold is no longer a problem, you should never rest your characters to regain health (you can use the House of Healing, if you have plenty of gold). Unless you are running all Elves, you need to always be careful about aging your characters.

I love the website Snafaru! Especially when it goes into the history of the game.

The guide has been updated.

Of particular interest are the modifiers for Experience and Hit Points for each Race and each Class. You'll find them on page 4.

Updated spell lists are useful too.
